Once your implant has fused, you come back to affix your abutment, which is a tiny post that sticks up out of your gumline and attaches to your dentures. 

With the abutment in place, your dentist takes an impression of your mouth that’s sent to a lab where your dentures are designed to attach comfortably and securely to your implants.
